About

I’ve spent the last 3 of my 40-ish years catching up on lost time since I stopped producing artsy stuff almost two decades ago. Back then it was all about drawing and painting and I thoroughly enjoyed it as it offered an outlet for my habit of constantly observing and remembering minute and, in most cases, useless information.

I’ve been pondering to this day why I stopped scribbling things on paper and computer screens, without success. Fortunately, after a friend of mine lent his Sony RX1 camera to me, I’ve found myself back in the game, albeit in a different way. Photography (in my case at least) is a nice mix of the technical and artistic, while also offering an added incentive for going outside. As a hobby, it ticks all the boxes.

So, why this website? I really don’t have a satisfying answer to that. People kept telling me to create one, and I guess it’s a good thing to have your own small place in which to ruminate on this hobby and the choices I make within that context. I really don’t expect people to actually read this nonsense - this is here for my cerebral benefit only. Besides, personal journals are too easy to just bin. Public blogs come with certain artificial obligations, making them harder to just ignore. I guess you could say that the shame a public display of negligence would bring is the force that keeps me coming back here for some healthy introspection.

So, if you’re new here; welcome. If you have a few minutes to spend, have a look at some pictures. Some of them aren’t complete monstrosities (if you disagree, please let me know).
